In family life, it’s easy to focus on what still needs to be done… and there is usually a lot!! But what if we slowed down and celebrated progress instead of only looking to the finish line?
Recognising and acknowledging small victories, efforts, and personal growth builds confidence, motivation, and a deeper sense of connection. Often young people (and adults!) dismiss their own achievements. They might think, “It’s not a big deal” or “I could have done better.”
When families intentionally call out and celebrate each other’s wins, big or small, it reinforces the message that effort matters, and there is so much worth celebrating.
